Steven Mackintosh ha trabajado en una serie de películas de éxito tanto para cine como televisión desde que hiciera su debut en el filme Ábrete de orejas (Prick up Your Ears). Interpretó a un recatado transexual en No todas las chicas son iguales (Different for Girls), a un pelele en Lock & Stock (Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels) y al loco por el sexo Joe en Amor en tiempos de guerra (The Land Girls).
